I was very close to going to college at the University of Virginia in Charlottesville. I'd met a lot of UVA students and recent graduates in Wyoming, and held the school up as a quintessential American school: founded by an American founding father, blessed with an idyllic campus in the perfect college town, and with a great reputation.
In choosing Duke over UVA, my logic was that the former would have a more diverse student body and was slightly stronger reputationally, and wasn't even much more expensive than UVA for someone out-of-state.
My main photo from Virginia is from the Pentagon, the American military's headquarters. But I'm also happy to have a shot on UVA's campus from a visit I made with work much later on.
