One of the attributes of Boston I most cherished was its proximity to lots of other states, not just for ease of flag vest photo accumulation, but for the variety of culture, landscape, and activity set.
In the year I was working at Raytheon and based in Boston, and then in the two years of business school, I took a lot of trips north of Boston. Those trips included at least one trip to Sugarbush ski resort with some business school friends for a day of skiing.
It was a snowy day, which made the slopes a bit less icy than is usual for east coast skiing. It was on the east coast during the years of 2011-2013 that I first learned how to ski.
My other favorite trip to Vermont was one I made to Middlebury to visit my cousin, who was a senior (I think) there at the time.
